The fifth-generation Range Rover (L460) launched in 2022 as the flagship of the Land Rover range, built on the new MLA-Flex (Modular Longitudinal Architecture) platform. It retains the iconic Range Rover silhouette — long bonnet, floating roof, and clamshell tailgate — but with a cleaner, more modern execution featuring flush glazing, hidden waistline trim, and digital LED headlamps.
Powertrain options include a 3.0-litre Ingenium inline-six with mild-hybrid technology in both petrol (P400) and diesel (D300/D350) forms, a 4.4-litre twin-turbo BMW-sourced V8 (P530), and a plug-in hybrid (P440e/P510e) offering up to 70 miles of electric-only range. A fully electric Range Rover is also planned. All engines are paired with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive with an electronic rear differential and Terrain Response 2.
The interior sets new benchmarks for the model with a 13.1-inch curved Pivi Pro touchscreen, a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster, and active noise cancellation. Available in standard and long-wheelbase forms — the latter offering an optional third row for the first time since the L322 — the L460 can seat up to seven. Air suspension with adaptive damping and optional all-wheel steering (rear wheels turn up to 7.3°) deliver both off-road capability and a remarkably tight turning circle for a vehicle of this size.
With a kerb weight of 2,435–2,710 kg and aluminium-intensive construction, the Mk5 Range Rover combines traditional luxury and presence with the most advanced technology ever fitted to a production Land Rover.
